There’s Always a Fire Risk

For as long as people have been building boats, they’ve had to worry about those boats catching on fire. When you’re out at sea, one of the worst things that can happen is for a fire to break out. And the bigger the boat, the more likely there will be a fire.

That’s because all of those events, entertainment venues, and amenities are powered by electricity and sometimes even involve flames. Since 2005, there have been about 79 reported fires aboard cruise ships. That might not sound like a lot, but any one of those could’ve ended in a boat being sunk if they got out of hand.
