Billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey splurged on a Global Express XRS private jet. In a later interview, she said that “having [her] own airplane” was her “greatest luxury.” Looking at the XRS, she’s not kidding. The XRS is a large-cabin, long-range jet. Winfrey purchased her own plane after a harrowing incident in 1992.

She was accosted by a woman in an airport while waiting for her flight. The woman accused her of not “acting like she does on TV.” Winfrey said the woman’s aggressive demeanor shook her up, and, as soon as she had the money, she chose to splurge on private travel.
