As one of the most famous actors in the world, Brad Pitt has seen his fair share of private jets. But, when it came to buying his own, he decided leather seats and multiple toilets weren’t for him. Instead, he purchased a World War II Supermarine Spitfire for $4 million. Pitt has starred in several movies set in that era, so it’s understandable that his fascination with the period led him to buy the unusual plane.

Like John Travolta, Brad has a love of flying and has his very own pilot’s license. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get to take the Spitfire out for a spin all that often as it’s kept in a hangar in Somerset, England. The actor goes against the grain in many aspects of his career, so perhaps we shouldn’t be all that shocked by his choice of plane. We would pay good money to be in the cockpit when Brad takes off, but unless he starts doing tours we’ll never see it.
