MGA Twin-Cam (1958-1960)

The 1958 Twin-Cam was engineered to be a high-performance, high-speed vehicle, boasting estimated top speeds of up to 113 MPH. This model was intended to deliver an exhilarating driving experience, focusing on speed and power to cater to automotive enthusiasts.

Unfortunately, the Twin-Cam developed a reputation for being highly temperamental, primarily due to issues with its engine. It was prone to overheating because of burnt oil, which frequently led to detonation problems. Although some modifications were made to later models to address these issues, they were not sufficient to save the car’s reputation. Consequently, production of the Twin-Cam was discontinued in 1960.
