Bono is an Irish musician and is, to a huge degree, the face and voice of hit musical band, U2. He can be considered as a music icon for their band’s long-running career and numerous chart-topping hits. He formed the band when he was just 16 years old after he saw an ad in his school. He was joined by David Evans and brothers Dik and Adam Clayton. They signed with Island Records in 1980, but their first two albums did not make the charts. Lacking luck, the band talked of breaking up due to the lack of success.

Fortunately comes 1983, they released their album War, and it reached no.10 on the UK charts and became their first overseas hit. By the release of their fifth album Joshua Tree in 1987, the band had already become a household name. To this date, Bono is still active in the music scene along with his bandmates.
