George Lucas cemented his name as one of the most important people of Hollywood with the creation of the Star Wars film franchise and Indiana Jones franchise, both of which became global phenomenons. The entire Star Wars franchise grossed $9.3 billion worldwide, while the Indiana Jones franchise grossed $1.96 billion. The director, writer, producer, and businessman also created Lucasfilm. Additionally, he also founded Skywalker Sound, Industrial Light and Magic, LucasArts, and THX, all of which became divisions of the parent company Lucasfilms.

These investment companies have set new standards for filmmaking and gaming and are developing new technologies for motion graphics. When he was in his late teen years, the now famed director attended Thomas Downey High School and got interested in drag racing. His dream was to become a professional racecar driver, but he was involved in a vehicular accident that dampened his hopes entirely.
