MICHAEL YORK – 77

Michael York show originally named Michael Hugh Johnson, holds two Emmy Award nominations for The ABC Afterschool Special: Are You My Mother? He collected over 70 movie credits throughout his career, including 1968’s Romeo and Juliet, 1972’s Cabaret, The Three Musketeers, and the Austin Powers movie franchise. If we also counted his TV appearances, the list might fill up the whole page.

Despite his fame and success, fate had different plans. In 2013, York shocked the industry after stating that he is suffering from a rare disease called amyloidosis, requiring a lot of insurance coverage for proper treatment. Thankfully his healthy lifestyle managed to help him feel much better from this illness. Besides battling his health condition, he also managed to surpass the challenge as he willfully opened up about amyloidosis. In doing so, Michael York raised awareness across different platforms, which managed to have experts in additional research on the illness.
