Dame Maggie Smith is one of the most well-decorated English actresses in history, having earned over 50 film credits and various awards and nominations throughout her six-decade-long career. She’s a champion of both the performing arts and of humanitarian causes. In 2011, she was one of the leading figures who gave financial aid to rebuild the Court Theatre in Christchurch, New Zealand. She also became the patron of the International Glaucoma Association.

Her art investment was also vital during the 2012 Celebrity Paw Auction designed to raise funds for Cat Protection. She may be known internationally as Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter franchise, but her range doesn’t stop there. Her passion for acting continues as she was featured in the stage play A German Life in 2019 and the upcoming 2020 film A Boy Called Christmas. Maggie Smith is a force to be reckoned with, and it seems like we’ll be getting more of her in the next few years.
