RICHARD BEYMER – 81

Richard Beymer is an American artist who started his career as a child actor and slowly made his way behind the scenes as a director, writer, and eventually, producer. He made his TV debut back in the early 50s on the TV series Sandy Dreams before moving to Hollywood for more mainstream TV work and to earn movie credits.Beymer’s most significant role was Tony’s portrayal in the 1961 film version of The West Side Story. He also appeared as Peter in The Diary of Anne Frank and continues to work as a director, editor, and cinematographer of short documentaries.

As a filmmaker, he is known for his 2017 work Behind the Red Curtain. After working behind the scenes for quite some time, Beymer returned to his acting career and starred in the film Paper Dolls as David Fenton. He also made an appearance in Star Trek Deep Space Nine, portraying the character Li Nalas. Beymer has also ventured into writing and published a book entitled Impostor: Or Whatever Happened to Richard Beymer?.
