KATHARINE ROSS – 80

Katharine Juliette Ross was a screen actress who began going mainstream after portraying Elaine Robinson in the 1967 film The Graduate. All of her efforts and investments paid off, and she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance. After two years, her career picked up when she portrayed Etta Place in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, where she brought home the BAFTA Award for Best Actress. She also received two Golden Globes, a Laurel Award, and a Saturn Award for her other roles.

Although the ’60s marked the beginning of her prosperous career, Ross went into semi-retirement in the following decade and appeared in some television films. She got a career boost after starring in The Stepford Wives. She bounced back strong and continued her life in the limelight. She has been married to actor Sam Elliot since 1984.
