BETTY LYNN – 93
Retired actress Betty Lynn rose to the pedestal of mainstream cinema from the 40s until the 80s. She delivered top-notch acting that made her one of the most sought after actresses during her time. Her career peaked after she portrayed the role of Thelma Lou in the hit television series The Andy Griffith Show, which aired from 1960 until 1968. At age 93, Lynn is now a retiree reaping the fruit of her investments from her active years in the industry.
She also received the Long Leaf Pine Order, the highest civilian honor presented in North Carolina due to her overall contributions to the state. She relocated to Mount Airy from Los Angeles and currently lives in a retirement home and still appear to her fans despite her agedness and signs autographs for her fans every third Friday of the month. Lynn appeared virtually in the 2020 Mayberry Days because of the current restrictions surrounding the ongoing pandemic.
